An island of culture and entertainment, Krk’s offer mainly relies on tradition, consolidating the past and the present.
Following the traces of the past are the popular festivities held on the Patron Saint's of each village’s day , and amongst these is the most famous market in Krk - the “Lovrečeva” held on 8th, 9th and 10th August which dates back to 1524.
The folklore of the Festival of Krk is one of the oldest celebrations of its kind in Croatia (founded in 1938). More than half a century has been marked by "The island of Krk's summer shows” or international shows of classical music, klapas songs, ballets and plays, as well as different shows and events held in the city of Krk from June to the end of August.
Creative and entertaining workshops for the younger guests, popular festivals, fishermen's nights, summer sporting events, exhibitions, concerts of popular and classical music and folklore group performances are all part of the summer offer in almost every island centre.
